What Is Canada’s Refrigerant Regulation (ODSHAR)?
ODSHAR (Ozone-depleting Substances and Halocarbon Alternatives Regulations) is a set of regulations established by the Canadian government governing ozone-depleting substances and halocarbon alternatives (HFCs, HFOs, etc.). Under these regulations , high-GWP HFC refrigerants are being phased down , and certain products are subject to GWP limits on the refrigerants that may be used . When installing new equipment or replacing existing equipment , the refrigerant is an important consideration in addition to performance .
