What is Peltier effect?
Peltier effect is based on the Seebeck effect, which was discovered by German scientist Seebeck in 1821 and is the effect that causes electric current to flow between metals due to a temperature difference.
In 1834, a Frenchman named Peltier discovered that when a direct current is passed between two dissimilar metals, a heat-absorbing or heat-generating surface is created, and that reversing the flow of the current reverses this phenomenon. This phenomenon is called the "Peltier effect."
Recently, the Peltier effect has also come to be used in car cooling and heat-retaining boxes, cooling computer CPUs, etc. Unlike air conditioning systems that use refrigerant such as chlorofluorocarbons, it is said to be an environment friendly cooling method that does not contribute to ozone depletion or global warming.
