2-2. Inertial collision mist collector

When oil mist particles that are in motion are sucked into a mist collector, they continue to move according to the so-called law of inertia, so they cannot keep up with rapid changes in the direction of the flow, colliding against walls along the flow path etc. The method of trapping oil mist using this law is known as the inertia collision method. The inertial collision method is broadly divided into the general filter type and the disk type employed in the Apiste GME Series.

As the filter type is based on the principle of letting the oil mist collide against a filter to collect them in the fibers of the filter, the filter therefore needs to be changed regularly. On the other hand, the disk type adopted in the GME Series repels and traps the oil mist particles by making them collide against a disc rotating at a high speed, so maintenance man-hours can be reduced compared to the filter type.
