Mist collector technical information 2-3. Overflow separation (cyclone) mist collector

2-3. Overflow separation (cyclone) mist collector

The overflow separation (cyclone) mist collector traps oil mist particles by applying a centrifugal force on the particles based on the turning motion of a suction air flow. In a cyclone mist collector, the oil mist particles flow in a tangential direction to the wall of the turning cylinder unit as shown in the diagram. The oil mist particles are removed by colliding them against the inner wall of the turning cylinder unit due to centrifugal force while clean air is discharged from the top. Since the particle size that can be trapped by a typical cyclone mist collector is said to be several μm or more, the collection efficiency is inferior to the electric type and inertial collision type, but it offers certain advantages such as fewer replacement parts etc.
