2-3.Vortex separation (cyclone) type mist collector
The method of capturing oil mist oil mist particles by applying centrifugal force to them through the swirling motion of the intake airflow is called the vortex separation (cyclone) method.
In the vortex separation (cyclone) type, as shown in the figure, oil mist particles flow tangentially into the wall of the rotating cylinder.
oil mist particles collide with the inner wall of the rotating cylinder due to centrifugal force and are removed, and clean air is discharged from the top.
It is said that the particle size that can be captured by a typical cyclone is several microns or more, so the collection efficiency is inferior to that of electric and inertial impaction types, but there are advantages such as fewer replacement parts.
